Dangerous Cake

Okay I haven't made this yet but it looks yummy! Very quick dessert for a small family! A treat for the kids that makes you feel like "Wonder Mom"

The most dangerous cake recipe
5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

Before I was a Mom...

Awesome Mom
Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom,I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom,I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom,I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom,I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,the joy,the love,the heartache,the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.
*~Being a full-time mother is one of the highest paying jobs since the payment is pure love~*~ ~*~Don't worry that children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you ~*~*~The best gift you can give your child...is the gift of TIME~*~
~*~Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak, courage also is what it takes to sit down and listen~*~
I really loved this when I received it. I thought I would post it as a reminder and a look back down memory lane.

Sydnee's loose tooth!

Okay so today I went to pick Sydnee up from speech at noon and the first thing she said to me as I walked in to the room was "Guess what Mom I have a loooooose tooth"! I looked at her teacher and said really? She nodded yes! I had to ask because I thought maybe she was just practicing saying those sounds. I can't believe she has a loose tooth, she is still my baby girl! She talked about it all the way home and then insisted on eating something soft so her tooth "doesn't hurt." She also said " I can't believe it now I am going to get money or a toy from the tooth fairy." Okay who's the wise guy and thought of a toy for loose teeth? I only got change when I was little. Well she's pretty excited as you can imagine.

I just thought I might add she is saying the most funny things lately. Last night as we were trying to get Sawyer to eat his carrots Tom, said "Bunnies eat carrots. Sydnee said yea Sawyer like the Easter Bunny, he brings you JOY! Okay Tom I just busted out laughing and then made up some reason why we were laughing so hard. I really thought she was going to say candy but no, she said Joy! Crazy Girl!

Scouts invites

Okay, so it's that time of year again, the Blue and Gold banquet for scouts! This years theme is American ABC's. I know who comes up with these themes. So the whole Blue and Gold is a huge thing! The whole family is invited and we serve them dinner and have skits, flag, award and usually something to go with the theme. In the past years we have had Hawaiian, Space and Chinese New year themes. This is the invites I made this year. Last year I swore I would simply print out something and pass them out, but I felt guilty so, here is this years! Thanks to Jayne and her "scrapbook store" I found great paper and ideas. Thank you Jayne for the paper and thanks Jen for your help picking awesome paper out! I didn't do a whole lot of fancy stuff to them but I thought they turned out pretty good. Easy, but cute, I think?. I am so glad they are done, now to the next thing I must have done!
So tell me would you come if you got an invite like this one?

Just a little more Vegas

Well Vegas was a blast and the best part is, we made it home! I was a little scared to fly. I have only flown one another time, and that was scary too. The airport went well and the rental car place went even better. Our hotel was awesome and we got a great deal on it too. In the lobby of our hotel there was so many roses that the whole area just smelled awesome! I was going to get a picture but forgot! At first I wasn't sure if we could even afford to have any fun in Vegas. I mean drinks are priced anywhere from $4.50-9.50 and buffets are $15.00-25.00 dollars and the shows were completely outrages.
We already booked a couple shows on line but wish we would have waited. They have the half off show booths and lots of people handing out buy one get one free cards. (That how it always goes) We could have got our Cools tickets for $50.00 instead of $115.00 oh well! FYI watch out for the "timeshare" people they are out in force! We took a break from the strip and went downtown to Fremont street and saw a hotel with a way cool pool that the kids would just love. (I can't remember the name) We shopped and then headed back. All the shows were fun and I am already planning the next shows I want to go to. The last night in Vegas we were walking home and found this cool outdoor bar and grill that was doing karaoke. We got some Fry's and sat down. I t was so funny to watch everyone have there try at it. Some where great others not so great. Of course when they played a good song we had to get up and dance. Tom thought the whole vacation experience went so well he is already planing our family vacation. Yes, he wants to fly.
We just want to thank my parents for watching our kids all weekend! We are so blessed to have family right here to help us out. We are so grateful that everything went well and the kids were not too crazy!
We also want to thank Jen and Jayne for taking the kids on Sunday so they could play with their cousins. We are so grateful for your help.
Sam thanks to you too for your help taking them back and forth and putting them to bed for us on Monday! Thank you for cleaning up the house too. It was so nice to get away and we knew we could trust all of you with our most precious little babes!
We got ticket's to this show free because Tom was part of an another show. It was funny and pretty good seats.
We had so much fun at the first hypnosis show that we just had to hit one more.
This one is called Hypnosis Unleashed. It was held at the Harmon theater, called Krave.
It was so funny and a little dirty too.
Of course we hit Lance Burton the magician show. It was not at all what I thought it was going to be like. It was quite a production. Have you ever seen a car float up into the air and then disappear? Great show but our seats could have been better.
This show was awesome. Very adult nature, but so funny. Tom even went on stage and was completely hypnotized. They were told to do some crazy things like act like Orangutans and then eat bugs out of the audiences hair. Of course they ended that one with the orangutans being "horney" and finding someones leg to "hump"! I wanted to die when he told Tom that every time he says his name he must call a friend, not family member and tell them "This is Tom and I am in Las Vegas and I......." I guess if you want to know the rest I bought the DVD. I will be charging $5.00 for each person who want to see it. Maybe I will have enough viewers to pay for the dang DVD.

Between the weeks...

This blog entry is for all those day to day things we do. We took the pictures so I guess we wanted to remember them. I just grabbed the last few pictures in our files, but I am sure I will have to repeat this post often. Really you take the picture for why?

A week before Christmas Tom got a wild idea; he wanted to get a new TV. That idea completely snowballed on us because, if we got a new TV then we need to get a new entertainment center and then we would just have to get a new sound system too. Right? Well the whole snowball effect had us running around trying to find the best deal. Well we were both stressed so we just decided to walk away from the idea. Tom still got a new sound system, still in the box though. We both agreed maybe after the new year and when things settle down.
Scouts!
Do I really need to say much? I have almost been teaching Webelos now for four years! I love it and feel it's the best calling. Here we are showing the boys how to make letters with your body. Something they had a real hard time imagining. Every week, one Sunday a month and of course Roundtable, thats once a month too.
Hailey's birthday party at the movies. You know Me if there is popcorn I am there. Sydnee didn't care for the idea that I was going to join her for her party but soon got over it. Thanks Tehra for the invite!

One of the many DR apts. we always have! Here Sawyer is waiting patently for the eye DR at Primary's. Great Hospital, horrible wait. the sign actually reads "this apt will take 1 1/2 to 2 hours maybe 3"
Yes it really does too.
Well the out come was that his eyes look great!!!
I hope my kids will always remember I always put whip cream
on their hot chocolate! My Grandma always made us hot chocolate for breakfast and I will always remember how great that was.
Yum
Sydnee playing in the snow with her friends and then coming inside for hot chocolate.

Tom got this electric race track for Christmas and was just dying to set it up. So, when Jen and Jimmy came over the two men, I mean boys set it up and had a blast playing with it.
It was fun! the kids got to try it out too. It's one of those "only when Dad can help you" kind of things though.

Men will always be little boys!

Easy bake oven fun!
NOT!
J/K
It was cute but man, if can you enjoy such a small brownie after waiting so long for the dang thing to heat up and then cook and cool, good for you because I can't!

Sydnee and Sawyer decked out and ready to bake!

I am sure he just going to love this picture when he gets a little older.

PTC

So, this time Parent, Teacher, Conference was called a "walking report card". It was to last 30 minutes and we would visit four different stations so, they could show-off what they have learned.
She did GREAT! I am so grateful to her teachers and to her for all her hard work! The stations were, Phonics, Math, Reading, and Writing. It was fun to see all she has learned so far! Good job Sydnee we are so proud of you!

Sledding

Okay, I stole these pictures off my sister-in-law's blog and I just love them! I left my camera home and didn't get any pics for my self! I really don't like the cold or climbing a huge hill and then going down the hill for like 2 seconds just to hike the hill again! Did I say it is cold too? I gave in and decided I didn't want my kids to always remember me as the Mom who sent Dad to do all the fun things. It was hard to get motivated but once I did I had a blast! One pic we didn't get was all six of us on that big tube. I bet that would have been quite a picture. Sawyer even climbed the hill him self two times. Sydnee loves going down the hill but she is a lot like me doesn't quite like the hike up. We all enjoyed hot chocolate after and of course we started to plan the next time we should go. Thanks Jen for the pictures and for going, it was fun!

Vegas Baby!

For Tom's birthday I totally surprised him with a fully planned vacation. ( So, I planned the trip and reserved airfare and hotel but waiting until his birthday was another story)
I have been so excited to give Tom his gift, I really wanted to give it to him the day I had it all planned but I just kept counting down the days! I was so close, only hours really when I spilled the beans in a completely Innocent conversation, on the phone. I really didn't even catch that I had told him until he said who, is going to Vegas?! I didn't know what to do or say so I hung up on him. I know very immature, but I just didn't know what to say. When he got home, only minutes later i let him open the package that contained the trip and all info.
He was so excited and hey, it's for two so I was happy too. He just kept saying really? Are we really going to Vegas? He had a perm-a grin on his face the whole night! So it may have been a little early but hey it put a smile on his face anyways, just a day early. Now we just keep counting down the days until we get to go. We are excited and a little sad to leave our kids for 4 days. We know they will be taken care of but, what if they are a pain for those who are watching them? I guess that is all parents fears. RIGHT?

New Year's!

The party group!
Watching a movie.

Felecya and Zack!

Jimmy and Sawyer playing guitar hero!
Sawyer loved watching Uncle Jimmy play.
New Years is never much of a celebration for us. Tom is usually sick or we just don't have anything to do, but this year Jen and Jayne invited us over for games and a yummy dinner. the kids played really well together and we even got Melvin to join in some fun games.
Thanks for ringing in the New Year with a "bang" for us! We had a lot of fun!
Funny thing: Sydnee just could not believe she stayed up the "whole" night, until the next day. She had to tell everyone.

SaNtA cAmE

Sydnee and Sawyer could not believe their eyes on Christmas morning. Santa had really came! He ate the cookies they laid out and even wrote them a quick note. Sydnee was so excited to get her "Mrs Goodbee" house and Sawyer was even more excited to see a huge train table, with choo, choo's. I loved watching the kids faces light up when they opened their gifts and play with them. We are very fortunate to have had a wonderful Christmas and even more grateful for the reason we celebrate this holiday.
