Carving and parties, oh my!

The famous pumpkin carving!
I don't know what anyone else thinks but this is a lot of work for the parents and little work for the kids!
Sydnee and her Dad getting ready to carve her pumpkin!

Sawyer is so happy with his pumpkin he even gave it a kiss!

Sydnee in her Halloween parade!

The AM kindergarten just went through the 1st and 2nd grade classes, but they had fun!

I went to Sydnee class and helped with the Halloween party!
We made candy scarecrow necklaces and they all loved it!
Here is Sydnee class!

Theater-Enchanted

Sydnee and her cousin Felecya have been in a theater class for the past 4 weeks!
When we signed them up the paper said the class was 8 weeks. Oh well! They had fun and on Thursday they had a little performance. I don't know why the pictures are so dark.
(maybe the lighting)
Here they are being birds.
They said "goodmorning Gesel" (spelling?)

All together!
They seemed to have had fun in class but Sydnee is NOT sad at all that it is over.
Silly girl!

Good bye Lagoon

We decided to go to Lagoon for one last trip of the season. The kids loved the trick-or-treat boo house and of course they loved the rides. It was nice to have the season passes this year. I loved not feeling guilty about leaving early. We will have to see if we get passes next year!

ARR-It's a Pirates life for me...

It was a Pirate weekend! My niece and nephew had pirates parties!
Here is Sydnee with Felecya at her party!
They had lots of fun making scrapbook pages and going on a "treasure hunt"!
At Garett's party they went on on "treasure hunt" and found a treasure box pinata.
Sawyer sure knows what to do to that pinata.

After mass !

Sawyer after his successful treasure hunting.

The Birthday Boy, Garett!
He sure is strong!
Thanks Felecya and Garett for a fun pirate party!

Mom's instructions...

Well a few years ago my sweet Mom got me this cute book called: The Complete Mom's Little Instruction Book (Wit and Wisdom for Mothers) by: Annie Pigeon. It its so fun to read a few entries and then apply them to the way I see Motherhood. I thought I would take this entry and share a few with all of you! If you would like to borrow it just let me know!
Cut off the crusts.
Make real cocoa
Hang their drawings on the fridge
Buy them cool lunch boxes
Celebrate Velcro!
Yes, they do need all 64 Crayolas
Okay we all now these right? but how about:
If you don't know, say so
All mother are working mothers
Ultimatums don't work
Bribes work
Be consistent
Think quick
Improvise
Sympathize
Remember: It's just a phase
"Wait tell your father gets home" is just a cop-out
Always look before sitting
Okay you re still thinking "duh" right? Well how about:
Potty training builds character (yours)
Sibling rivalry builds character (theirs)
Stretch marks are a badge of honor
Half your brain leaves with the placenta
The older they get, the wiser you'll seem
An unmade bed is easier to get into
Disney... is not an option
Sail paper airplanes
Hunt for four leaf clovers
Don't panic
Guilt is an art form
It's your duty to brag
Ask them for advice once in a while
Don'thold up other people's children as role models
Sometimes you'll have to tell little white lies
Let them know you'll always be there
Well I could go on forever! This cute book has lots of fun wisdom! 365 little wits in there that I just love.
Please leave me some of your wisdom.

Mom's Birthday

Here we are celebrating my mom's Birthday! Sydnee said it was Grandma's 21st birthday! We ate carrot cake and ice cream. We all played with Jaxon's new puppy Dayzee. Sydnee and Sawyer loved playing with her. It was nice to be all together as a family and celebrate our Mom.

Happy Birthday Mom! We love you!

Mail from Oregon

Sydnee and Sawyer are always so excited to open the mail in hopes that something might be for them. Today they were in luck! My Aunt Sheri and Uncle Frank fom Oregon sent us this cute witch! Sherri made this cutie and decided it needed a home with little kids so they could enjoy her. Sydnee was so excited because she is going to be a witch this year!

Report Card

Sydnee's teacher was so proud of Sydnee and said she is doing really well. Her report card showed she did great! I am so proud of her! Our goal is to work on her sight words. I think she will catch on quick. Sydnee and her Grandma Harman reviewing her report card!

"I'm a Bella"

You are observant, diplomatic and often aim to please. You are unaware of your
attractiveness and despite being uncomfortable with any form of attention, people enjoy your company. You can be impatient, stubborn and headstrong, but you are true to your word and mature for your age, often taking care of your family and enjoying a good book over chatting with girlfriends on the phone.

Hunting report

Well Tom made it back from hunting. He had a great time but no deer for him. Four out of five is not bad though. Tom's Dad, brother, cousin and uncle all got their deer tag filled. Tom already cooked up his Dads deer heart. Sydnee loved it! Myself on the other hand just can't get past the fact that it is a heart! Hello yuck! All in all they had a good time and there is plenty of deer meat to go around! Better luck next year!

Pumpkin picking

For Family night we went to dinner and by the time we were done it was to late for much else so, we went to the store to get a few things. The kids saw the pumpkins and just could not wait for the pumpkin patch.
We let them pick out the pumpkin they each wanted.

Sawyer loved this one because he could carry it.

He just wanted to play in all the pumpkins

Sam took this pic of us.

Sydnee wanted the biggest pumpkin she could find!

The winning pumpkins!
Yea!

How to spend $20 bucks!

Sam took Sydnee to the mall today. Her dad gave her $20.00 to buy anything she wanted. She did great! She bought 2 cute sweaters and a yummy Carmel-chocolate apple. She said she had a lot of fun and Sam said she was a good girl. I have been sick so, I was so grateful that Sam took Sydnee with her and gave me a chance to rest. Sam also took her to Mac's for an ice cream cone. She was in 7th heaven! Thanks Sam!

a hunting I am going...

Tom all packed and ready to leave for the deer hunt. I hope he finds a big buck! He took all the wheelers and his dad took the camping trailer.
He should have fun at least no wife and kids to bug him.

Coloring adicted

Sam, Sydnee and Sawyer coloring in the Halloween coloring book. Sydnee has been spending most of her time coloring. It seems to have rolled down the family too. We are all taking time to color with her. It is a great way to relax and feel like a kid again.

This is a small sample of Sydnee's work. ( Sawyer helped alot too) She is doing really well at using a lot of colors. She has some pages that I thought someone else did.

Photo tagged...

Ok, Here is my picture. My fourth picture in the fourth file.
This is Sawyer at one of Sydnee's soccer games! He is such a cheese!

(I save to many pictures.)

So here's what you do:

1. Go to your pictures

2. Upload 4th picture of 4th folder

3. Post.

4. Tag 4 of your friends.

I am "tagging" Jen, Carmen, Camie and Heather, you all better do it too.

Cherishing my role

Do the best you can through
these years, but whatever else
you do, cherish that role that is
so uniquely yours and for which
heaven itself sends angels to watch
over you and your little ones.

Wow!
How easy it is to forget we have Divine roles as mothers. Sometimes I feel like I am drowning in all the "things" I think, I have to do.
I always think "just let me finish this and then I can." I know that I have great intentions and pride myself on the house being clean and my family fed. Do I for one minute think "will my children remember how fun, and lovable I am?" My role as a mom extends much further than a clean house and dinner on the table. It is my job to help strengthen their testimony's, to teach them to find compassion for each person, to love with all the their hearts, to laugh and to live an honest life. I know I do try my best but I also know there is much more I could be doing and with that in mind I have sweet angels to help me.
How refreshing, don't you think?

School pictures

This is Sydnee's 2008-2009 school picture. I am so glad she is smiling. I can't really say much about her soccer pictures. The little stinker has the cutest smile and you just can't get it out of her unless you make her laugh.

Cousin Fun!

This past weekend we watched Jim and Crystals kids. I picked them up and took them to the Library to see the dollhouse's they had on display. All the kids thought it was cool to see the little houses. We also found a kid area where they could use tickets to go "fishing, bean bag toss, or get their face painted."
Sawyer, Sydnee and Abby chose to get their faces painted and the rest chose to go "fishing!" Sawyer had a dog face and Abby and Sydnee had a witch with a broom painted on their faces. Derek, Caleb, and Becca got "goodie bags"! After we left the Library we went to Sam's Club and to my surprise the kids didn't fuss about going shopping. After shopping we went home and ate Little Caesars Pizza. We then raced down to Sydnee's school for her walk-a-thon.
Later that evening after all six were dressed in their pj's we watched Nims Island and ate popcorn.
The kids brushed and than we laid them down to sleep.
They all went right to sleep. Well Sydnee didn't but she always gets to excited when she has a sleep-over.
The next day we ate at MC's for lunch. (We just had to try out the new play land toys)
They are showing us their toys they got in their kids meals.
After lunch we decided to go up the canyon for a nature walk.
It's a real fun walk along the river. There is signs to teach them about different things they may see or hear on the trail. It also has fun things to play on. The tepee, metals bugs, bat houses, animal tracks and a little hut that looks like a beaver dam were some of the many things the kids got to see.

It was getting pretty cold by the end of the trail! We packed up and headed home to get ready for dinner. Jim and Crystal came and picked the kids up early and they were all sad the day had to end. Sydnee is already talking about next time. It was great, all the kids played really well together and it wasn't to bad to have six kids for a day! (Only the looks as some people counted them with their eyes or fingers were bad) Hey we do live in Utah folks!

What to be?

Because Sawyer can't really tell us what he wants to be for Halloween, we just decided to try on all costumes he might like and see which one he likes best! We still have a doggy costume but, he wore it last year and my sweet friend Carmen said she has a Mickey Mouse costume we could use too. To many choices! Sydnee on the other hand wants to be a witch! Ask her to sing you the witch song sometime is soo cute!

Play-pals

This pic was taken last Thursday when I watched my friend Randi's little boy, Nicklaus. Sawyer was so excited to have a buddy. Nicklaus and Sawyer played outside on the swings and on the bouncy horse. They played really well together.
Yesterday I watched Nicklaus again while his mommy went to the school to help with her son class. the boys mostly played with the Halloween decorations. When ever Sawyer would bug Nicklaus, Nicklaus would say "Sorry, sorry." I always knew when Sawyer was being mean.
I would love to keep Nicklaus!
He is such a sweet little boy and man is those eyes to die for or what!
Sawyer wrestling the huge spider to the ground! I knew there was a reason I didn't want to put up Halloween decorations!
