Salem Pond Park

Camie and I decided to take the kids to the park for lunch and to see the ducks.

We also tried really hard to get a picture of the three of them together

Sawyer is looking up to try and find a bird, my fault of course. I told him "to look at the bird" but I didn't anticipate him to look clear up in the sky for the bird.

I forget how much the kids enjoy the simple little things in life. Like ducks, slides, snow cones, and water. I also forget how much joy it brings to me to see them enjoy these simple things.

This is zucchini cake, it's Heather's yummy recipe! Sydnee has been asking me to make it all summer. So I made it on Thursday for scouts and of course Sydnee. Everyone seemed to love it.
This is my first time baking bread! Thanks to Carmen I succeeded in baking two warm yummy loafs of delicious bread! Carmen, thank you so much for sharing your recipe I love it!

This goes on Sam 1st's list also! She helped make two loafs and 24 rolls.
While we baked, Tom installed a ceiling fan for me in our bedroom. I am so grateful for his time and patience he put into making the fan sturdy and convenient with a remote to run it! Thanks sweetie!

BOYS! (Need I say more)

On Thursday I watched my cute little nephew while his mom went to the doctors. Zack was sad his mom left and Sawyer was just trying to help him feel at home.
Sawyer and Zack got into the cupboard and got Sydnee's cookie out and sat down to share it. Okay on my defense I saw that Sawyer had it but didn't think he could open it. I guess that is determined boys for you.
CAUGHT RED HANDED!





These are picture that I have had for a few days and I think they capture Sawyer and maybe most little boys. Sawyer just loves matchbox cars and he is rarely seen with out one. I just love watching him play on the floor with them and I also like to watch him try to sit on and drive everything with wheels. Most of the time I use the excuse he is "just all boy" but I am not sure that is going to be able to be used much longer. I am very grateful for my children and really glad I have a boy and a girl, but this little boy sure gives me a run for my money. He can completely destroy a clean floor in 2 seconds and folded laundry around him just can not remain folded! He has become the family artist with many colorings on the walls. He has become very fascinated with spitting and thinks all punishments are totally funny. Sawyer has also started pushing any little child his size down and then gives them a huge bear hug that knocks them over again! I just can't wait tell someone returns the favor. But on the bright side, he doesn't wine to much and when he gives you his huge smile, all that stuff just seems to disappear. He is a happy, hugable, lovable little boy who knows how to run the family!

Swimming, Lagoon, Oh my!

Swimming at our nice, clean hotel in Layton! ( The one in Logan that we usually stay in was full and the other one we picked was way gross, so to say the least this one in Layton was great!)
Sydnee was so excited to go swimming and was very impressed with her-self that she was "really swimming." She wants to use a life jacket from now-on!
Sawyer didn't quite know why he had to wear just his shorts but soon found out and was happy!
We bought season passes to Lagoon this year and have already gone four times.

This is Sydnee's 2nd time on the spider that day and she said she didn't like it the 1st time but caved-in to her Dad begging her to go on it with him. Brave little girl!

On top of the roof! They wouldn't get it down until closing! So there goes another hat! Three just this year! So, if any ones seen a purple, pink or blue Children's Place hat that is plaid please let us know we are missing a few.

When we got home we found this huge bag a tomatoes on our porch! Yum! I don't know who dropped them by but, thanks!

Anyone have a good salsa recipe?

So our weekend was fun but went by to fast! Here it is just another Monday with laundry and dishes to be done. Dusting, Vacuuming, bathrooms and sheets to be changed. I sure wish weekends were five days and weekday were two days! I guess we all do!

Logan, friends and food!

When we finally got to Logan we had Lunch at Juniper, (famous for their turkey steaks) then headed to see our friends. This is my sweet friend Melanie. Melanie and her husband Justin and their four children, Braxton, Cameron, Kazlie, and Brennon all lived next to us when we lived in Logan. I miss them and miss the great examples they were in our lives. After checking in and out of our horrible hotel we went to see our friends Candis and Clay! We had planned to go to dinner with them but they had to attend a family thing later that night. Our visit with them was way to short! I guess they will have to come down and visit us next. On R way 2 Logan!

This is Sardine Canyon. It is so beautiful to see the leaves changes.
We had to stop by Sherwood Hills and get a few pictures.
The kids loved the leaves but couldn't wait to get to Logan!
I miss this canyon! Not the drive but the way you feel as if your so far away from the "city life"! When we lived in Logan we always dreaded the 140 mile drive to see family but now it was refreshing and a little bit crazy with two kids saying "are we there yet?"

My Picasso's

This is one of the girls favorite things to do. my whole drive-way is covered in pictures. I love to see what they have drawn. Some days I get the chalk out for two girls and then come back out to check on them and there is seven girls using their artistic abilities. Side walk chalk makers have got to be rolling in the dough. lol! Well we, sure have to buy 1 or 2 buckets a year! So if anyone wants to walk through our "art exhibit" fill free to take a stroll up the drive-way!

Crazy hair Day!

So today was "Crazy hair day" and oh, boy was Sydnee excited! She thought she could just wake up and go to school with her hair a mess. I told her it is CHD not messy hair day. So this is what we came up with. She wanted pony-tails everywhere. After six pony's and a huge bow she was ready! I really feel for the teacher's today, because if all the kids are as excited and wild as Sydnee was today they are in for a real treat!

The kids love weekends because Dad is home. I love the weekends for the exact reason too. Although we wanted to do tons of things we were way to tired to do much of anything. We played board games on Friday and Saturday we went to my cousins wedding. Her wedding was held at the Homestead in Midway. It was pretty and the kids had fun seeing the ducks and fish in the pond. Tom and I took the kids to see the crater they have and it was so awesome. I didn't bring the camera. Why? Oh of course we were running late so we got out the door with just the most important things. (ourselves) The kids loved seeing the people snorkling and diving. They were so amazed with this " hole in the hill" and how warm and blue the water was inside. Sunday we went to Grandma West's and the kids swung on the huge swing set Tom built. I love how talented my husband is. When he sets his mind to something there is NO stopping him. He made this HUGE swing set out of power-poles, old tires and many other electrical supplies. This has become one of my kids favorite things to do. I wish we had a big enough yard to have one here too.

Another day at the park.

We just love going to Sydnee's soccer games. We love to see her have so much fun! After her game on Friday we went over to the park and let the kids play! As you can see it was hard to get Sawyer to leave though.

Car-pool posse'

Sydnee, Trey and Oliver rode their scooters home from school on Thursday. I told them we would if it was a nice day! I am happy and sad about the weather changing. I love fall, I love settling down but way to quick it turns to plain-out cold! Sydnee wore her red, white and blue to school to show her respect on Patriots day. She is loving school and always comes home with something new she has learned.

A time of Remembrance

This is my Great Aunt Sherrilee and my Great Uncle Frank.We all met at the cemetery, on Sunday to show our love to our loved ones who have passed away. My Grandma and my Uncle who we all miss extremely! We also wanted to see Frank and Sherri before they headed home to Oregon later this week. Sam, Mom, Dad, Camie, Richard, Jaxon, Ted, Kathy, Liz, Matt, Nick, Jeff, Shonie, Sydnee, Sawyer and I all met up and then headed to lunch.
We were all sitting in the shade when I looked up to see where Sydnee had ran off to, when I saw her sitting in front of Uncle Jared's head-stone. She seems to be pondering something.

Sawyer and Jaxon sat in the shade and ate goldfish. Sawyer insisted on feeding Jaxon and Jaxon was more than happy to help eat the goldfish. It was a very nice day and it was really wonderful to see my family again. I hope we can all get together soon.

This is my sweet Grandma at her 70Th birthday party. Everyone was taking pictures to remember the day. It's been a great day. Tom took the kids to the kite festival, while I got ready to go.(thanks honey) SAD, no pictures though. Sydnee loved the water and Sawyer loved the music and they both love watching the kites. After they got home we left to the party.

Grandma looks great at 70 I hope I look half as good as she does when i am her age. We ate a yummy dinner and visited with everyone before picture time. family picture are always fun trying to get everyone to smile. (Not so well with my kids as you can see) A woman sang Grandmas" You are the wind beneath my winds, it was a great song for Grandma. Grandma is such a great person and has always been someone I look up to. she has spoiled me by taking me to many places on vacation and again today with a hand made cross stitched picture that was framed and matted. As well as hand-made ornament, a t-shirt to remember the day and an awesome video of days gone by.(I though it was her birthday) We made cute note pads and the kids made door-knob hangers. After cake we all said our goodbyes and hopes to see each other sooner than later. thank you to all who made this a great party. I also want to thank my husband for getting someone to cover his call while we went to the party and for keeping a close eye on the kids while I got to catch-up with everyone.Thanks babe!
